About Derek Weigel

In 2015, Derek Weigel received his bachelor of arts in philosophy from Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania. He entered college as a graduate of Bergen Catholic High School, where he participated in varsity lacrosse, football, and wrestling. By the time he enrolled at Gettysburg, Derek Weigel had earned All-Conference, All-League, and All-County honors as a football player.

Mr. Weigel continued to play football at Gettysburg until he became sidelined by an injury. He went on to join the school’s Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity chapter and served as a mentor to new students, whom he guided through the process of adjusting to college life and learning to make positive decisions. Meanwhile, Mr. Weigel earned an associate of applied science (AAS) in business administration.

He also draws on a diverse professional history, having been in the work force since the age of 18. A former cashier and maintenance associate with the Bergen County Department of Parks, he has also served as a production employee with LPC Visual in Hackensack, New Jersey. He now serves as head of security with Thatcher McGhee’s Restaurant and Bar and is an entrepreneur with World Financial Group in White Plains, New York.
